Its interior structure can be a hassle for killers during a chase sequence, but the surrounding grasslands and debris can provide perfect cover for stalking or planting traps. Additionally, Slayers have a much smaller environment to patrol with generators generally speaking in close proximity to each other. With connecting rooms and hallways, the possibilities are endless for a quick escape. For killers, Springwood is a dreaded fate, especially with so much ground to cover. Additionally, its weather effects, such as the surrounding mist, make it easier for stalker killers to go unnoticed. For survivors looking to outsmart the killer, its layout is ideal for breaking line of sight and finding useful hiding places. Killers who patrol generators like the Sensual Executioner will have an equally difficult run. Otherwise, the overall size of the map makes it one of the largest in Dead by Daylight. With lots of windows, looping areas, and palettes, meta killers like Huntress and Hillbilly are going to have a hard time. Introduced with the Roots of Dread expansion, Garden of Joy is fairly balanced on the outside, but once the Hunt reaches the Twisted Mansion, things quickly turn in favor of the Survivors. However, its complex layout can be a drawback for addicted survivors, especially when their teammates have to navigate the confusing realm to locate them. Midwich Elementary offers a huge range of escape options for chase sequences and there are enough escape routes to make sticky situations manageable. For others, its multiple floors and maze of corridors are more infuriating than helpful. Given its enormous size, the Raccoon City Police Station can lend a hand in escaping the killer with an abundance of hiding places, but its labyrinthine design makes it difficult to repair generators and work together with teammates.
